DB-6535 with outstanding low foaming performance is a liquid, water-soluble non-ionic surfactant and is supplied with 100% active matter. As a wetting agent, it is especially suitable for the preparation of latex paint colorants and other water-based pigment systems.

Performance
Surface activity
Low-foam wetting agent DB-6535 has good surface activity, which is shown to reduce the surface tension of water. Compared with other commonly used surfactants, it is particularly effective, especially at low concentrations.

Solubility and compatibility
DB-6535 is soluble in water and various common solvents, such as alcohols, ketones, aromatics and chlorinated solvents. It is insoluble in higher aliphatic products, such as heptane or kerosene, or certain glycols, such as ethylene glycol. DB-6535 is compatible with other nonionic, cationic and anionic surfactants.
Foam performance
The foam performance of DB-6535 aqueous solution depends on temperature. Above 100 (37.8°C), there is very little foam even under vigorous stirring. In Table 2, DB-6535 is compared with the relatively low foaming alkylphenol ethoxylate.

Application of wetting agent DB-6535
Manufacturing latex paint: DB-6535 is a general-purpose wetting agent for latex paint manufacturing. As shown in Table 2, at a temperature of 100°F (37.8°C) or higher, it can get the most benefit from its low foaming characteristics. This temperature is usually reached during high-speed pigment dispersion.
In most coating formulations, the amount of 0.1-0.3% DB-6535is sufficient. DB-6535 is used as a wetting agent together with "Tamol" 731 (25%) colorant dispersant. This mixture exhibits a synergistic effect of maximum efficiency at the smallest amount.
In order to improve the water resistance of the paint film, avoid using excessive amounts of DB-6535, or any other wetting agent.
